Somethings Are Better Left Unsaid

Dear Chummy,

As far as the average person is concerned, I have an abnormally large amount of twitter followers (thank you dorky, teenage me!) and this audience is very mixed; there's people I know personally and there's a large number of strangers. There's a wide range of ages, genders and cultures and with such a great following comes a great responsibility. I have to be careful what I tweet. I can't be bitchy about someone because they might see it, I can't offend One Direction because I might get hunted down and killed. Because I have to have this filter, I have a lot of drafts (when I say a lot, i mean a lot - there's 141 of them...).

So onto the main point of this post, I'm going to pick some of my drafts on twitter and maybe explain them a lil and see what happens. Like your last post, this is 100% a youtube video possibility (when we have subscribers ;)!) so here goes..

  1.  "@georgeeeyeah EXCUSE ME CAN U LOOK AT YOUR TEXTS PLEASE" This one is absolutely classic, in fact I think others similar to this are actually a frequent feature in my drafts. You never answer your phone. Ever.
  2. "I'm going to be on TV tonight and it's going to be tragic ahaha" I have zero idea what this could be about. Not a clue, The only thing I think it could be is from when I saw Justin on TMI but I'm not sure why that would have been tragic so no idea.
  3. "Let's be honest, what's changed" I'm not too sure why I didn't actually tweet this, it's quite a good one - the picture is cute, the captions cute, maybe I'll tweet it now (probably not)

  4. "'8 years I've been waiting to see a pig'" I remember this one, it's an Evan quote. I can't remember where we were or why he said it, I think it was just a super random outburst but I laughed a lot.
  5. "10 months older Taylor tweet throwback remember" This is SO frustrating. I missed it by a month. This is a reminder to post a pic from 1989 tour with Clean lyrics ten months after we'd been. Damn.
  6. "When you finish work at 5am but have plans for 10am and " Obviously couldn't think of an ending for this tweet. Here are the pictures that accompanied the tweet. High-key looking like a mess but low-key feeling myself.
  7.  "80's music is so 'get up and go'" Yeah true to be fair.
  8. "'We don't even have shrimps, we just have prawns!'" Honestly, the funniest thing Louie ever said to me, so glad this is in my drafts cos I just laughed all over again. It was how he almost cried while saying it, like it's the biggest struggle Aussie's have to face.
  9. "uh oh, there you go again talking cinematic, yeah you!" A little bit of Hannah Montana, lyrics are also quite frequent in my drafts theres some Taylor Swift, theres a bit of Justin Bieber "is it too late to say sorrrry" two extra 'r's cos that's how you sing it.
  10. "I wasn't going to watch it, but I gave in and I really wish I hadn't" This was about Fifty Shades of Grey
  11. "Turns out the world doesn't end when you have no internet for four days, who knew" I like this one. It's very true and I wish I had more internet free days.
  12. "Life doesn't suck. People do." closely followed by..
  13. "Such a moody bitch today" I mean that's most days really.
and the finale..

   14. "How do I have so many followers? my tweets are so shit"

I hope you enjoyed reading this, it was kinda fun to see what doesn't make it through my filter and what I deem unsuitable (boring / badly written) for twitter. I have so many more so maybe they'll be a part two who knows. Sorry it's been a while.

Laterz,
Chelsea x

I've got that nostalgic feeling

Dear Chummy,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been super busy cramming and rushing to get all of my work that I hadn't done, finished for deadlines (I know I'm going to fail - but we'll get to that when it comes). Right now I've stopped watching Smallville for 5 minutes because I had a brilliant idea for a blog post to you. Ok so I've had my 2014 memory jar on my bedside table for ages just staring at me and today, I finally decided to open it; - I'm going to share with you as I open some notes, this could be fun!!

  1. 'Chelsea organised a surprise meal for me and some friends from school, for me leaving to live in Boston. I definitely have the bestest and cutest best friend in the whole world.' - aww, do you remember that? I was in the car getting annoyed at my mum for not taking me to your house, little did I know she was driving me to this.. so cute!
  2. 'Me and Ricky are bandana pals :)' - wow too cool for the world! Am I right?
  3. 'Found out TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB are headlining Latitude!! :O' - Little did I know,  the day before they would cancel this and lily allen would replace them.
  4. 'Me and Chelsea walked into the boys loo, hahaha oops!' - hahaha funny drunk memories
  5. 'Replaced Olivia's furby with coal for Christmas, it was so funny! (side note) theres a video on Phill's phone!' - thanks past georgia for reminding me theres a video somewhere, that's probably the most helpful thing you've done.
  6. 'Me and Chelsea swam in the sea (it was freezing) we regret nothing' - not sure which time that was but NO RAGRETS!
  7. 'I don't get asked for ID out in town anymore, they know me. 2 G8!' - brilliant georgia, what an achievement, (I think I was actually 17 at the time)
  8. 'OMG! - Bastille and the kooks tour dates; I am buying tickets for both :D :D :D.' - I believe I only got tickets for the kooks
  9. 'Me and Fay ordered dominos pizza at college'
  10. 'WE GOT TICKETS FOR THE KOOKS!! THE FUCKING KOOKS OMFG!' - I guess we only got tickets for the kooks ;)
  11. 'Mum said we can get a new cat! YAY!' - we never got a new cat
  12. 'SHAKE IT OFF' - thats all I put! haha
  13. 'Cafe crawl and Nandos with my faves Jas + Fay again, so good to catch up :)' - well..
  14. 'Free trip to the zoo with chelsea's school. Took a selfie with the elephants and we're doing the same pose!' lol.' - Omg I remember that, I didnt have to pay to get in because I just walked in with you guys, that was great!! 'can you cut the pizza into 8? … no.'
  15. 'IM 18!! yay omg finally' - ew theres nothing great about being 18, I'm now 20 though wtf.

  17. 'Finally moved into my newly decorated room - so cute (i drew a flower)'
  18. 'At the kooks there were this couple and they were dancing crazy and it was really funny (I think they were drunk or high lol) Me and chelsea were making their convo and trying to guess their names. I said he looks like a Ben and Chelsea said she looks like a Kate or a Katie. We found them on insta the next day and thats their real names… OMFG ME AND CHELSEA LAUGHED FOR AGES, SO FREAKY!!!' - Probably my favourite one so far!

    50. 'Dear Chummy blog with Chelsea where we post letters to each other every wednesday and sunday - best idea we've ever had.' - Ok confession, this wasn't the last note I found but I thought I would save it for last because how bloody iconic!

Well that was so much fun; there is obviously more than that but a quarter of the way through I started getting bored with writing them all down! - there were some listy ones like the last one about Reading festival and Amsterdam and stuff too. What i've learned from this is that we saw the kooks at lot of times in one year, what a great time to be alive! haha I hope you enjoyed that journey back in time 2 years, I think this would make a great youtube video one day when I get the subscribers up ;)!

I think I might do this again one year, or when we go traveling it will be great to write down all the little things to be able to look back on!

I love and miss you loads, can't wait to see you again soon!!!

A Guide to Being Twenty

Dear Chummy,

HAPPY GEORGIA DAY !!!

Hooray! You made it to twenty!

Twenty is such a weird age, you're no longer a teenager but you'll do the same things you did last year when you were nineteen. I mean it is a big deal, twenty is a milestone but it's not quite twenty-one is it?

In all honesty, being twenty hasn't been good to me - I feel like I haven't really done anything exciting since turning the big two zero and I don't really have anything exciting planned for the last six months either. But life is 100%, without a shadow of a doubt exactly what you make it so I think you'll do twenty better than I have so far and guess what here's a guide!

Image from HelloGiggles.com

Step One:
This is the first year of pure adulthood, start it right. Declutter, have a proper good sort out, and plan some stuff, think about the future (but not too much, it's scary).

Step Two:
Go out and meet people, someone, anyone. Make new friends, do tinder dates.. they seem super scary but I dare you. If you go on one, I'll go on one too.

Step Three:
I know I've just said go on dates but don't worry about your love life. It's not worth it, focus on loving you. Baby, you should go and love yourself.

Step Four:
Travel. See a new country and experience the culture, properly. This one should be easy, we already have two new countries planned and I am determined to be able to experience it properly, maybe actually go out for a traditional Norwegian or Spanish meal rather than jut Mcdonalds haha!

Step Five:
Be hopeful and ambitious. Dream big and work for those dreams, the future is so unknown and something that could seem impossible and unrealistic now may turn out to be completely possible in the future.

Step Six:
Read lots, not just books but the news, articles and journals. Stay educated and aware of the world around you. There is always something to read.

Step Seven:
Drink. It is crucial that you start having a casual drink in the evening (maybe not every evening) but just a glass of wine or a gin & lemonade (not sure how you feel about tonic so I played it safe) to chill out at the end of the day. You'll be feeling like an adult in no time.

Step Eight:
Start thinking about money. It's nice to have right, figure out your finances and have a plan - especially as you're going to move and uni it up.

Step Nine:
Look after your health, physical and mental - life's harder if you're feeling crooked. Eat properly, half self-care days, see the damn doctor if you're feeling unwell and if they're a wanker don't take it to heart, seek some online advice and comfort from pals.

Step Ten:
Don't beat yourself up. Everybody makes mistakes (everybody has those days) and being 20 is all about getting things wrong and thats ok. Everybody tries to be a better them, and everybody gives up after two days. Eventually though, as we get older, we change little by little and don't really notice that it's happening but we look back and we think fuck I'm actually doing okay. So give yourself a break if life gets hard, you deserve it.

And that's my very adult-like guide to being twenty. Realistically, I think it's gone a lot different, but I do think I've come up with some pretty good points that I should probably take note of myself.

But here's to you turning 20!! *clinks glasses and shouts hip hip hooray!*
I hope this year brings you the greatest things, I really do and I can't wait to (hopefully) experience them all with you. I love you lots and lots and wish I could have been there with you, wearing Christmas jumpers and eating chocolate fingers but alas, life.

bye bye,
Chelsea xx

spot the londoner

Dear Chummy,

Hey, how's it going? How was Norway? I'm waiting on a post all about it; or you can just tell me in person because in three days we'll be reunited, I am so excited to see you and spend the week with you. It's been way too long, oh my god now that I think about it I haven't actually seen you since last year and that makes me want to cry, I miss you so so so so so much!!! I know it isn't my turn to post but neither of us have for a while and I kinda fancied typing out something other than college work, it seems to be taking over my life but I'm enjoying it I guess.

So London!! What shall we do? Lets plan it out.. (kids underground tickets this time, why pay extra when you don't need to?) We can make a bucket list and tick it off as we go along, I want to document it with videos and photos, its important to have stuff like this for the future, what if I wake up one day and forget stuff, you never know.

  • Alice in Wonderland exhibition
  • Cat cafe? (we have to do it! i know you're not a fan but it will still be cool)
  • Hunterian museum - similar to the zoology place but human
  •  Check out the Traffic Light Tree - it looks so cool! (night photos)
  • Cool markets - we'll have to find the best ones
  • Guildhall art gallery
  • The Scoop
  • The BFI mediatheque
  • Taxidermy museum
  • That museum we missed last time (I forgot what it's called)
  • The London Film museum (its like £10 each though so maybe not)
We really need to get planning so we don't waste the day, or maybe we can go for breakfast when we get there to plan it out, idk we'll work it out!!, you're better than me at finding cool things, make a post or comment other stuff for us to do!!
Some cool websites that have info about unique stuff to do in London;

Also I can't wait to spend a week with you watching Disney shows and The Vampire Diaries (finally, and I know i'll cry so much)

Definitely need a meal at walkabout I miss the sweet potato fries! YUMMYY!!!

I'll end it there because I really need your help planning and organising, because you know thats you in the friendship haha

Love and miss you sooooo much!!
See you real soon

LET THE MUSIC MOVE YOU

Dear Chummy,

(Spotify Friendship Playlist)

  1. Justin Bieber // Purpose - This should be the first song on the playlist for many reasons; the obvious one, its Justin our absolute babe. But mainly because without him we wouldn't have become such good friends and be where we are now. Our friendship gives me purpose so a big up to biebs.
  2. Hannah Montana // True Friend - This song literally represents our friendship and also this song always reminds me of you. (We still need to make a video montage of our friendship to this)
  3. Selena Gomez // We Own The Night - 'When we are together its the time of our lives' because when I'm with you I have the best times ever.
  4. The Kooks // See The World - I can't wait to go traveling and see the world with you, creating more memories I can treasure forever.
  5. Crystal Fighters // We Are One - I honestly think we have the same mind the majority of the time, it's really funny when we think/say the same thing at the same time in front of other people, they get so creeped out.
  6. Hilary Duff // One In A Million - Thats what you are to me.
  7. Circa Waves // Best Years - I believe our best years are yet to come and I seriously can't wait for them.
  8. Demi Lovato // Cool For The Summer - I can't wait until summer, we have so much planned, its going to be a good one!!!! (we just need money, but we'll worry about that later)
  9. She and Him // Stay Awhile - Next time you're here please stick around a while.
  10. Taylor Swift // I'm Only Me When Im With You - Best taylor song for this tbh, because I know no matter what I can be myself around you and I love that so thanks for letting me be comfortable being me with no judgements.
  11. Ella Eyre // Good Times - I think I'm on to something cause I feel the good times coming
  12. Gorgan City // Imagination - You have such a good and creative imagination and when we join our minds together we think of the funniest and best things ever.
  13. S.P.Y // By Your Side - I want you to know I'll be by your side through thick and thin, I know you'll be by mine too, (ps: this song is good to dance to and we could see it at bestival this year)
  14. Swim Deep // Make My Sun Shine - You are my sunshine on a cloudy day. Love you
  15. Carly Rae Jepsen ft Justin Bieber // Beautiful - simply because you're beautiful

For now thats all I've got but I might come back and edit/update this list so keep your eyes out, I hope you enjoy it and if you can think of any other songs to add for the next time we're hanging out that we can listen to, feel free to comment or something idk.

Love and miss you so much,
See you soon hopefully to finally watch season six of the vampire diaries

You want a Pizza me??

Dear Chummy,

Something a little different for you today, a recipe. Enjoy.

Ingredients:

For the base:
300g Plain Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
300g Natural Yoghurt
1/2 tsp Salt

For the sauce:
Tin of Tomato Passata
1 Tsp Mixed Herbs
2 Pinches of Caster Sugar
1 Garlic Clove

Toppings:
Whatever you fancy
[I have red onion, cherry tomatoes, spinach, mozarella, ricotta, cheddar and sometimes parma ham]

Method:

  • First things first (i'm the realest), preheat the oven to gas mark 7/220 degrees and place trays in there to heat.
  • To make the sauce, grate the garlic and add that, the passata, herbs and sugar into a saucepan at a medium heat. Let this simmer for 10 minutes until it is thick and take it off of the heat, season with a sprinkling of salt and pepper and let it cool.
  • To make the dough, sieve the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and combine. Make a well in the middle and pour the yoghurt in and stir with a fork. The mixture will soon form a dough. Turn this out onto a floured surface and knead to form a ball.
  • Depending on how big you want the pizzas, divide the dough into equal pieces (the original recipe says 4, but for a fairly large pizza I split into 2). Roll these into circles, or whatever pizza shape you fancy.
  • Remove the hot baking trays from the the oven and place your pizza bases on top and bake each for 3-4 minutes until they begin to rise then take them out (don't burn yourself, I know what you're like).
  • Turn your pizza bases over and top with the sauce.
  • Now it's time to get creative, go crazy with your chosen toppings and make something that won't just taste delicious but will look it too.
  • Once you're done channeling your inner italian pizzeria chef, pop those bad boys back in the oven and bake for a further 5 minutes until the bases are crisp and the cheese is melted and you're happy as larry.
  • Now you're ready to taste the best homemade pizza you've ever had. You're welcome.

Caio,
Chelsea.

Feeling Inspired

Dear Chummy,

Reading through your last post has left me inspired; I really want to do more with my life too. I need to stop slouching around at home feeling so sorry for myself because frankly I have just about had enough of feeling so depressed and doing absolutely nothing about it. It's time to change. I'm not going to bore you with a list of things I should do this year because that would just be copying you, and its 2016 now I need to start standing on my own two feet and thinking solo, but I will say this; I do have a list, and I'm going to try and stick to it this time, like you should.

We have a lot to look forward to this year and even with college I have projects that excite me just a tiny bit… We're making music video's next. Originally I had planned to film one for Out Of The Woods however Taylor has beat me to it, I'll let her off though, I mean it is her song. And its ok because I have new ideas for a different song from the album; I want to film a really deep video for Clean because lately that song has been a real eye opener to me. The song is so special to me for different reasons and I think if I chose a song that has meaning to me then it will be easier to create a better music video don't you think? Anyway I'm just happy that I have that horrendous sustainable packaging project out of the way, well nearly, I just needed to add a few changes to get it to a distinction -  Im extremely proud of that grade actually considering I fell so far behind everyone with this work that I didn't think a pass was possible.

I need to start thinking about getting ready for uni, I really want to go to one in London. I have looked into it and I need to come out of college with DDM to get in so I'm going to work extra hard to achieve that. I feel like this course is so much better suited to me than photography, I'm glad something in my head changed and I decided to go back to college. Also the uni wants to see that you do filming outside of college and stuff so in summer Ellis and I are going to crack on with making music videos and short films, I think we should make a travel one when we go away too. I'm going to set up a Youtube which should be cool (I don't want to be on camera though, I'm far too awkward)

Oh my god, I just looked over your post again about wanting to be well-read. A few days ago I joined a new website, Good Reads, I think you should sign up (add me). It's really cool you can add books you want to read and keep track of books you have already read. I think you'll really like this website, I know I do and I'm going to try my best to keep up to date with it too. Talking about books and being well-read and you wanting to write more reminded me that I really want to get into poetry, I absolutely love reading poetry and I wish I could write it. It think in the summer we should take a short class on it or something like that, I don't know, maybe. Or a short course on learning a language, another skill I've wanted to have for a while.

I do indeed think we should change our blog up a bit. Maybe we should research into how to make it look cool and fresh so that other people would be just as interested in it as we are. Can you imagine if this blog ever became popular and people loved the idea of it and started doing the same thing? Or that we got noticed by a Tv show like Ellen that wanted us to talk about it - now I'm being too ambitious haha! Anyway I think we should definitely talk about it more when we see each other next, it's easier that way.

And on that note; I am so excited to see you again soon!!! You don't understand how much I actually need you here with me right now (It's a lot) so hurry up and get here, I miss you so much!

See you later, alligator
